1. About the Service

Modern Matchmaker is a digital matchmaking platform operated by Delivering Reliable Modern Apps Tech OÜ, registered in Estonia. The service is global and offers a modern, structured alternative to traditional matchmaking.

All matching is performed through automated curation using proprietary algorithms and statistical compatibility models. Filters and user preferences directly affect the number and type of suggestions available. We do not guarantee a specific number of matches or compatibility outcomes.

Only active clients or verified users may initiate or respond to interactions. Non-clients can register for free and may be selected as potential suggestions, but cannot actively participate unless they complete verification.

No human intervention is used in the suggestion process, though moderation may be applied when necessary.

2. Eligibility and User Verification

This service is only available to individuals aged 18 or older, or the legal minimum age in their jurisdiction—whichever is higher. Underage users are strictly prohibited. Any such accounts will be deleted without notice.

To interact with others (either as a client or as a suggested match), identity verification is mandatory. This process is handled by certified third parties (e.g., Veriff), using official documents and liveness checks. The data collected during this process is limited and subject to the privacy practices of the third party involved. All identity data collected is processed strictly under applicable data protection laws, stored securely, and only retained for the necessary period to fulfill legal or verification purposes.

Users are responsible for providing accurate, truthful, and up-to-date information during registration and while using the platform. Personal data is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Veriff, our identity verification provider, retains identity verification data (including biometric data) for up to 90 days in active storage and up to 3 years in archive for legal defense, fraud prevention, or support purposes. After this period, the data is irreversibly deleted or anonymized. You may contact us to request earlier deletion when permitted by applicable law. This data is processed strictly under applicable data protection laws and is not used for any purpose other than identity verification, fraud prevention, or legal compliance.

3. Account Management and Inactivity

The platform reserves the right to suspend or delete inactive accounts or those that fail to comply with the Terms. Users may permanently delete their account and data through the platform’s privacy tools.

4. Tokens, Plans, and Payments

All interactions on Modern Matchmaker require tokens—our virtual currency—which can be purchased via one-time payments or subscriptions through our payment partner (Paddle).

One-time purchases: Users buy a chosen token amount. Subscriptions: Provide a recurring token allowance and auto-renew based on the selected plan (monthly, semiannual, annual). Cancellation terms may vary by plan and are disclosed at the time of purchase.

Tokens do not expire and are not transferable between users. They have no monetary value and are non-refundable, unless explicitly stated otherwise or in exceptional cases evaluated via support.

Prices are in USD and automatically converted to local currency by our payment processor. Availability and supported currencies vary by country. Some countries may be restricted due to legal or compliance reasons. Paddle issues all payment confirmations and receipts.

Tokens are a virtual means to access platform features. They have no monetary value and are non-refundable, except where required by consumer protection laws. By purchasing tokens, you acquire the right to use platform services, not a commodity with intrinsic value.

5. User Conduct

Publishing, sharing, or transmitting any offensive, illegal, discriminatory, violent, threatening, defamatory, or sexually explicit content is strictly prohibited. Users must treat each other with respect at all times.

The platform may suspend or permanently delete any account involved in fraud, impersonation, harassment, or violations of these Terms—automatically and without prior notice.

6. Content Moderation

Reports of inappropriate behavior are reviewed automatically first, with manual moderation applied within 48 business hours if necessary. Sanctions may include warnings, suspensions, or permanent bans without refund. Repeated violations or attempts to bypass moderation may result in IP-level bans or legal action.

7. Security and User Responsibility

Modern Matchmaker provides tools such as reporting, blocking, and safety guidelines, but cannot guarantee the identity, intentions, or actions of users on or off the platform.

All interactions and decisions are made at the user’s sole risk. The platform disclaims liability for any harm, emotional distress, financial loss, or consequences resulting from use of the service.

Meeting suggestions are accompanied by safety tips and guidelines. We strongly recommend public places and notifying trusted contacts about meetings.

A native feature allows users to register the date and approximate location of a planned meeting, confirmed by both parties. This data is stored for security purposes and may be shared with authorities upon request.

Where legally permitted, users agree to indemnify the platform and its operators against any claims, damages, or consequences arising from their actions on or off the platform.

8. Intellectual Property

All content, algorithms, branding, layouts, and technologies used in Modern Matchmaker are protected under the MPL-2.0 license or third-party licenses where applicable. Unauthorized use or redistribution of such materials is strictly prohibited.

The platform includes services and content provided by third parties, including but not limited to Paddle (payments), Veriff (identity verification), HERE (location services), and cloud infrastructure from Azure and AWS. Each third-party service is governed by its own terms and licenses. A full list of third-party attributions and licenses is available on our Credits section.

Anonymous, aggregated data may be used for internal analytics and service improvement.

All user-submitted content (e.g., photos, bios, descriptions) remains the property of the respective user. However, by uploading content to the platform, the user grants Modern Matchmaker a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, and sublicensable license to use, display, reproduce, and distribute such content within the platform and in promotional materials, if deemed relevant. This license ends upon deletion of the account or the content, unless it has already been used in a way that cannot be reversed.

9. Modifications to the Terms

These Terms may be updated periodically due to legal, technical, or operational changes. Continued use of the service after updates implies acceptance of the new terms. In case of material changes related to user rights or data processing, we will notify users clearly and, when required by law, obtain renewed consent.

11. Privacy and Data Law Compliance

We are committed to protecting your personal data and ensuring transparency about how it is used. Our service adheres to major data protection laws including:

• GDPR (EU): Users have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to processing, and request data portability.
• LGPD (Brazil): Users may confirm data processing, access data, correct inaccuracies, request anonymization or deletion, and revoke consent.
• CCPA/CPRA (California): California residents may access their data, request deletion, opt-out of sale or sharing, and avoid discrimination for exercising their rights.

Users are responsible for complying with the laws of their own jurisdiction, and we commit to aligning with global best practices for privacy, fairness, and digital safety.

12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of Estonia. Users agree to resolve all disputes through binding arbitration, unless prohibited by local law or in cases involving criminal investigation, where competent authorities may be involved.

Any legal disputes will be handled in English and under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Tallinn, Estonia.

13. License to Use the Platform

Modern Matchmaker grants users a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to access and use the platform in accordance with these Terms. Any automated access, scraping, data mining, use of bots, or reverse engineering is strictly prohibited.

Accounts may only be used by the individual who registered them. Commercial use, promotion, or solicitation of other users is strictly forbidden.

14. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

Modern Matchmaker provides its service “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any content or user behavior. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers of liability, so parts of this section may not apply to all users.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, emotional distress, or data loss.

15. Legal Provisions

Force Majeure: We are not liable for delays or failures resulting from events beyond our control, including natural disasters, war, pandemics, government actions, infrastructure failures, or third-party service disruptions.

Assignment: We may assign or transfer our rights and obligations under these Terms in case of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. Users may not transfer their rights without written consent.

Class Action Waiver: Where legally enforceable, users agree to resolve disputes individually and waive the right to participate in class actions or class arbitrations.
